The Quick Step is derived from the Foxtrot. During the twenties many bands played the Slow Foxtrot too fast, up to 50 Bars/min, and the large open steps from the Foxtrot could not be danced on this speed. The Quick Step is a fast moving dance based on walks and Chasses danced to music of 200 beats per minute. It retains the walks, runs, chasses and turns, of the original Foxtrot, with some other fast figures such as locks, hops, and skips added. At Rio Dance Studio, getting started is only a phone call away.
